Fired over the phone one morning because…uh…I didn’t cover a meeting I didn’t know I was supposed to cover? Or was it because I wouldn’t work any more hours without more money? No. That can’t be right.

I will be adding to each section as I convert more cassette and reel-to-reel tapes to a digital format.
Where I got to stretch my legs and learn many facets of the radio industry. I grew up listening to this station when it was WPVL. Getting school closings and listening to Bill Starkey doing high school sports play-by-play. I helped with content when it was WQLS, which operated a local access cable station. Fryan Video Productions provided multi-camera coverage of local high school football. Then I started at WBKC as a part-timer and quickly moved to full time DJ. I was told just before first game of the 1986 NFL season that I would be covering the Browns. I eventually covered the Cavs, as well as being the analyst to Bill Starkey’s play-by-play. I also was a news reporter that covered local politics and start up of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.
