Karen and I decided to take a day trip to Niagara Falls, NY. We had heard that there is some great hiking along the gorge below the falls and we were not disappointed. It was only about a 4 mile hike in total but it was difficult and we had to descend and then ascend over 300 feet. We had to stop several times on the way back up.
We actually got close enough to the fast moving water to jump in, which, of course, would be instant death. So we didn’t do that.
It was the first time either of us had ever taken in the falls from Goat Island. I had only been on the US side once before many years ago with the scout troop.
